It’s a release day around these parts, which means I’ve been surfing my hardwood floors on a tide of socked feet and self-obsessed anxiety. But I’ve also got a nice round up of links that should give you some glimpses into my third Burning Girl thriller, BLOOD VICTORY, which is now on sale.
Have you visited my Bathroom Bookstore? It’s the ongoing video series I’ve been doing ever since the pandemic began, and today’s installment is devoted to my new book as well as an ill-advised attempt at a new Bathroom Bookstore theme song. There wasn’t an old Bathroom Bookstore theme song, and when you’ll hear this one, you’ll understand why.
Sampled the new podcast from yours truly and my best friend, the brilliant New York Times bestselling author, Eric Shaw Quinn? If not, the new episode of ‘TDPS Presents CHRISTOPHER &ERIC’ is available for your enjoyment. As part of a special feature we do called True Crime TV Club, we cover a gruesome Texas murder in a nod to BLOOD VICTORY’S Texas setting.
And a big thank you to the esteemed literary folk over at CrimeReads for inviting me to write this personal essay about BLOOD VICTORY. In essence it’s a letter I wrote to console an 8-year-old version of myself who used to hide under the backseat to avoid the sight of a poster for a terrifying move that once hung in the window of a Texas video store.
I have to return to pacing my apartment now and trying not to check sales figures. Be well and safe, everyone. I’m happy to be back to blogging and promise to generate some more content soon.

Loved the book and love Charlotte Rowe! My girlfriend and I listened to it within a couple days because we were so drawn in. We are hoping there will be a fourth book coming in the not too distant future.
Christopher Rice says
Thank you, Melissa. So glad you and your girlfriend enjoyed it! I promise to deliver more of Charlotte’s adventures soon.
Angel says
I absolutely loved this novel and where the characters are going. The development of Noah has come so far. I wish I could have seen more with Luke’s development after hearing a few times how much work he has put in to get stronger etc, but I’m sure that’s coming in the next one! There is a next one right?! Thank you for letting us get to know Charlie and everyone else.
Christopher Rice says
Thank you, Angel. I’m so glad you’re into Noah’s story. He’s one of the most compelling characters to me in the BG universe, and I’ve got big plans for him. And big revelations.
Mitchell Gilbert says
Just finished Blood Victory and have one question, Did Cyrus Mattingly survive Charlotte’s interrogation?
Christopher Rice says
He most certainly did.
Althea Mason says
Absolutely loved this book. I am hoping for a fourth one and to see more about how Baily and Zoey continue to play apart in Charley’s and Cole’s plans.
Christopher Rice says
Thank you so much, Althea!

Read all 3 within a week. Loved them and gave them all 5 stars on Amazon. But here comes the “but”. I think it was in the second one, and I may have misunderstood, but it seemed as if you described PTSD as “self-pity”?
Trisha says
I finally got a chance to read Blood Victory. It has been on my wish list for several months. As with the 2 preceding books, I absolutely loved it. Very excited to see your comment that we will get a 4th book.
Joy says
I just finished reading all three books in the series so far, and I am completely hooked. This is my first time reading your work, and I can’t wait to read more. Thank you.
Christopher Rice says
Joy, what a lovely thing to say. Thank you. I’m so glad you enjoyed what you’ve read so far.
Jayda Long says
I just read all 3 books in quick succession! I hope there is a 4th one coming soon since it’s been a few years now! I read all your mother’s work in the past and now I’m starting on yours. The character development in this series is very interesting. I’m anxious to see how Zoey plays into the series now. I’m in Tulsa!
